Laundry

Ok, so last time I meant to post about my traumatic laundry experience. oy, it hurts my back just thinking about it.

Anywho, I left early sunday morning with my gigantic bag of laundry. I bought a laundry bag with backpack straps thinking I was super smart, living in a 5-floor walk-up. On the way down, I'm a friggin genius.

So I take a left and walk 2 street blocks to a laundry place I looked up. It's closed. Shit. I walk back towards Columbus circle (2 avenue blocks) thinking there has to be a laundromat between my apartment and Broadwawy. Nope. There are places to send your laundry out. No thanks.

Finally I stop and ask a lady who runs one of these send-your-laundry out places where there's a laundromat. She was pissed, but consented to tell me to walk 2 aves back and 4 streets down. Basically where I was before, but a few blocks past that. So after about 30 minutes carrying 15 lbs of laundry on my back, I get to the laundromat.

I get in, fiddle with the washing machine, and start my laundry. Chatted on the phone with Natalie while it washed, no prob. Get to the dryer. A quarter was 7 minutes. After $1.50, my laundry was not dry. So I took it home slightly damp and hung it up to dry.

Getting up my stairs was the most difficult thing I've ever done. Gravity and the laundry were dragging me down. Took me a good 10 minutes it felt like.

Ok, I feel better now that I vented about it. haha. On to more fun things...

It is my boss's birthday tomorrow, so we went to happy hour at Pier 66 today. FANTASTIC. So cool. Even better when Blain got up and danced on stage with the hula dancers. And, about 20 mintues later, Shannon and Stacie did the same thing. Fantastic. Chrissy is right: if you have to work 10-12 hours a day, might as well like the people you're working with!
