No matter how much I pretend that I know the city like the back of my hand, no way. Not even close. Not even like the hand of someone I sat next to in comm law, so I saw them writing a lot.
After work, I went up to Harlem to have dinner at the NYC location of Dinosaur BBQ with Bri Rob and Kaleigh. I like the one in Syracuse better. As I told Steph, they change their side dishes around based on the demographic. And in Syracuse, they don't try to pass off a piece of lettuce covered in bean sauce as a side dish. I had a wonderful time, and my stomache is very happy. I skipped lunch today knowing we were having a "July" birthday party at work. Instead of cake, we had ice cream sundaes!! yeah, don't be too jealous.
So back to my rant. On the way home, I took a different train so I could ride most of the way with Kaleigh. The B train (all local stops) was on the express track so we thought it was express. It was not. Another 20 minutes to our ride. Then I wasn't paying attention, like the idiot I am, and missed my stop. So I got off on the next one and just walked home, because it was only 8 blocks away, but add another 10 minutes. Yeah, I'm just that smart.
What else...I could talk about the accounts I'm working on and what I'm doing...but you know what I spent most of my day doing today? Figuring out stupid google alerts. It's not rocket science. You think I'd have gotten it down pat. However, my e-mail address was not set-up to recieve external messages for a while. Therefore, I missed the verification e-mails from google. if you don't verify, they don't let you sign up for more. So Terrell, the super cool IT guy, and I spent an hour figuring how I can get these alerts for my clients. Because without the alerts, the news stops happening, like Bri said. Haha. So what we came up with, is I created a gmail account just for my google alerts that are automaticall forwarded to my work account. Oy, that's crazy.
Ok, time to go to sleep. I'm a grandma now. Kinda. I'll write more about my job life later ahah
